 Jagapathi Babu, whose full name is Veeramachaneni Jagapathi Rao Chowdary, is an Indian film actor known for his work in the Telugu film industry. He is also recognized for his versatile performances and his ability to portray a wide range of characters. Jagapathi Babu was born on February 12, 1962, in Machilipatnam, Andhra Pradesh (now in the state of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, India). He comes from a film background, as his father, Veeramachaneni Rajendra Prasad, was a renowned film director and producer.

He made his acting debut at the age of 14 with the Telugu film "Simha Swapnam" in 1989. However, it was his breakthrough role in the film "Peddarikam" (1992) that brought him widespread recognition and acclaim. The film, directed by A. M. Rathnam, was a critical and commercial success, and Jagapathi Babu's performance was highly praised.
